When Jessica and Rich came to me dreaming of special wedding stationery, they already had a meaningful source of inspiration. Jessica shares a close bond with her grandmother and spent much of her childhood visiting her beautiful country home in rural Virginia. While she had hoped to host their wedding there, logistics made that difficult, so she wanted to find a way to honor the home within their stationery instead.
She shared a photo of “Grandma’s house” and asked how we might incorporate it without creating a venue illustration. That’s where the fun began! I painted the ornate trim that wraps the roof and reimagined it as a delicate border for their invitation, then layered in soft watercolor florals to reflect their garden party celebration. The motif carried through each piece of their suite, weaving a subtle, sentimental nod to Grandma’s house throughout their wedding day.
